Hi yes. There is a travel mode but it only dips the beam down a bit.I was wondering if actual cut off can be changed from rhd to lhd. Thanks

Apologies but I fail to see why you'd be wanting to use stickers. What benefit does stickers have over the LHD/RHD adjustment on the infotainment system? The fact you can adjust the lights to either LHD or RHD would, to me at least, appear plainly obvious you don't need stickers?

Hi thanks for your response.TBH i do not know if this travel mode is legal that is one of my question (as it only dips the beam a bit) i know when you cross in France police will stop you if they do not see sticker on the headlights and how do you explain to them, that is why i asking would it be possible to reprogram them to have cut off on the other side instead stickers as they affect your lights output when you have them.

+1

All the stickers do is cut off any kickup leaving a flat top beam?

Where have you heard that?

I drove my previous car (Audi B7 RS4) into France every year for 10 years WITHOUT stickers, just set to Tourist Mode and never got any questions from the Gendarmes.

Been going to EU every year and have been stopped multiple times even with them on so they can check(even had at one time police steping in front of headlight to check if is fitted correctly 🙄)but I have never been with skoda or car that have travel mode so do not know that is why I'm asking.I hate those stickers difficult to remove and affect light. But if they are not needed that is perfect.

In 25 years of travelling into France the last 15 with around 10 - 20 return trips per year I know that you would be extremely lucky to ever come across Gendarmes doing a traffic patrol and even if you did they will not be looking for the absence or presence of stickers on headlights, the most you can expect is to be asked for your driving license.

Were they to be oncoming traffic and you blind them with your lights that might be a different matter but every night I drive probably 40% of the oncoming vehicles do just that, usually because they dont/wont use the dipping control.

You are worrying about nothing.

Must be a different EU to the one that I live in or your vehicle/driving that attracts attention.

And I have been driving RHD vehicles all this time so if they were minded to check headlight alignment mine would be the vehicle they would stop. On my older vehicles with H4 dual filament bulbs I would rotate them to give a LHD dipping pattern, on later vehicles I bought & fitted LHD headlights, neither of these would give any visual confirmation like a masking sticker.

Have these headlamp checks been done after you have been pulled over for another offence?

PS, I had to swap cars once with a friend who was visiting (his card would not work for fuel) and he had stick on deflectors fitted, they were absolutely lethal giving just a tiny diffused puddle of illumination a couple of metres ahead.

Hi never been fined or pulled in EU for offence.Every year i go to Croatia and that small part of France that i pass towards Belgium they are in 99% there and stopping people. For me that short period that i go trough France is always annoying as always counting to be pulled over but as i have said this year is gonna be first to go with a car for a long time.

Probably the route you take and your number plates make a difference; Along the coast from Calais to Dunkirk towards Belgium is migrant alley. I usually head South from Calais on L'autoroute des Anglais 🤣

Were you by any chance driving a van before?

That is true and yes for past 4 and a half years i had a van mini bus but a van regarding number plates i do not think that is what makes difference as my were just standard plates no personalized ones. But any how knowing that i do not have to stick those horrible things makes my day.

Personalised plates unlikely to be a factor as my cars have always had personalised plates.

More likely the Gendarmes stopping to check for illegals in the van IMHO.

If you have an Octavia 3 with xenons the change in headlights is done automatically using GPS data.
