Octavia clutch pedal clicking

Featured Replies

I know I've seen this somewhere before but has anyone got and ideas why it clicks at the bottom and on the return at the top ?

I know I've seen about swapping pedal box out but there must be something simple making it do that. If the pedal is depressed slow it does not do it

Welcome to clicking pedal club.

Only a few cars do it and it applies to other models too. It will progress to clicking at both ends of the travel (like yours) and can also affect the brake pedal too.

I took mine to a Skoda garage when it first happened and they identified the fault as the little nylon bridge that sits on the end of the spring, and said they could only fit a new pedal assembly as the nylon part is not available separately. So I tried a quirt of lubricant over the part and noise gone. Sometimes comes back on hot days.

Is it easily accessible or is it a strip down to get to it. Is there a nylon part at either end of the spring ?

I've not had a look yet so unsure how readily accessible this nylon part is. Thanks for the reply though

You need to take off the pedal box to get to it but you can spray in the general area fairly easily. Try putting the back of your head on the floor mat and look up with a torch!!

Going by what I've seen is it just a case of removing the crash bar then doing the bolts at the back to drop it down ?

I dont particularly want to separate pipes etc to get to the spring plastic part. Any help appreciated its driving me mad.
