New 06 VRS One Week Old 800 Miles done !!!

Featured Replies

Hi everybody at Briskoda and thanks - I have been watching this forum for about a month now and picked up lots of info before I bought my Black Magic VRS from Autofinders.

I picked it up last Monday and have been very disciplined until this morning when 800 miles came up on the clock!! Can't wait to finish work to take it around some back roads tonight!!

As for the problems with the 06 VRS other people have had:

1. No sign of the Stuttering problem - haven't thrashed it yet so it may be there?

2. I have the wrinkled passenger seat - however it is barley noticeable and if wasn't for this forum I may not have noticed it.

3. Finally the rattling noise from the boot compartment has been driving me mad. I took the car down a bumpy road on Sat and progressively ruled out: Seats /Tool Box /Spare Wheel and think it must be the boot lock or something in the window break light housing

that's one hell of a daily commute if you've managed 800 miles in one week!!!

Have been doing a few extra miles in the evenings to run it in !!!!

ahhh!

My new vrs made me 'drive for fun' again too!

(As for future buyers I rate Autofinders 7/10 - they were a little vague on exact delivery time but the price I paid out weighed this).

Autofinders were great with me. 9/10 as they gave me a great price and decent customer service. not sure what you mean by vague?

is a week either side of delivery date vague?

I hope you find the rattle in the boot area.

They told me at the time of order that they had the car in stock and it would be ready in 7 days for me to collect.

6 days past no confirmation – after I contacted them they then told me; barring a “national emergency” it would be ready the following Thurs (an additional 7 days). I phoned them on the Wed and they hadn’t taken delivery and couldn’t guarantee it arriving the following day.

On the Fri they contacted me to let me know it was ready for collection.

Because they couldn’t give me an exact date – I couldn’t get up there (200 miles from location) until the Monday.

They also offered to collect me from the train station, however after 25 mins waiting I called them and they had forgotten – taxi to Bakewell for me!!!

Long story I know hence the Vague comment – but as I said I was still v happy because of the price.

I take it you have bought your car from Gordon Lambs then !

The rattle is the bracket that holds the rear seat back in place. Mine used to do that, very annoying, but unless you have no back seats; get used to it !

Enjoy

So after all that, do you mind telling me how much you paid in total? Do you have anything non-standard factory fitted bits?

They offered me a standard one in black for

Nice, i think i did alright from a local dealer. Black Magic and Cruise Control for £11,600 - considering they gave me a pretty good amount for my part ex i think i did alright :)

You couldn't even find a dealer willing to go to £11,500 then???

No - I phoned a couple a little further a field than my local dealers and the best price I got was £12000 and they wanted me to come in for a face to face to negotiate further– which imo is nonsense – if they can’t deal on the phone to someone who has all ready made up their mind and wants the car, what will they achieve during a face to face??!!

This is the first new car I have bought and to be honest I found the dealers to be bunch of amateurs – I don’t think they appreciate that most consumers these days are very well informed by forums like this one and when they walk into a showroom they know exactly what they want and how much they are going to pay!!!
