Hello. 

 

Asking help for my friend. He bought brand new scala. (1.0 dsg) and he have been experiencing some issues with the engine. When starting the car, it sounds like the starter motor cant turn on the engine, or the starter motors stays on. It usually happens when the engine is warm and the issue is intermittent. I added a video. Any clues?

That's bad. Take back to dealer and have fixed under warranty.

Was already at the dealer once. They couldn't replicate the issue as always. 

Regardless of if they can replicate it they have to take in the car and try try and try again maybe with their Dealer Principal driving it as a daily driver while they give your friend 

their top of the range perk to drive.

They don't need to replicate it now, as you have it on video.

Dealership can't replicate the issue. They say car is fine. Škoda factory said, that theres no issue with the car and it's not common issue. 

The dealership doesn't need to replicate the issue. Their inability to replicate the issue is of no concern to your friend.

 

He has captured the clear fault on his mobile phone. Drop the car off at the dealer, jump into a courtesy car and ask them to call you back only when they've diagnosed and fixed the fault.

Every new car / model with issues gets the same Skoda / VW response.   VW Group should look at snagging faults, but that is not their way.

 

'Not common', which is obvious because owners reporting to dealership staff are told

, 'We can not replicate'

or 'It is normal'. 

Or,  they all do that.

Or, Never heard of that before.       This goes on with owner after owner with issues, and nothing is Logged. 

 

Eventually it becomes,  'Only a very few have this problem, the factory are looking at it'.

Do You have the Brake-pedal pushed down or not ? Gear lever in P-position ?

To my knowledge the car wouldn't even attempt to start if those conditions are not met.
