Dash cam - Best value

Featured Replies

I recently refitted my Blackvue 400HD II which worked fine until I decided to upgrade the firmware. It no longer works.

Anyway, any recommendations for small, cheapish, (<£100) dash cams. Of the ones I've seen I don't think I'm a fan of screens on them.

I have one of these fitted to the rear of my vehicle;  Transcend Drive Pro 230 it does have  a screen which makes it easy to adjust settings. It's also WiFi and GPS enabled.

If you're fitting it to the front it also comes with Forward Collision Warning & Lane Departure Warning built in, but they can be deactivated.

I've an older Trancsend camera. No problems in about 4yr of use.

I've got a Nextbase 312g -CIRCA £70 from Argos ,but it needs a memory card, another £10 for a small decent one. There's also a 322gw model . Only difference I can see is that the GW has WiFi. Excellent quality pictures when I put memory card into PC with Nextbase S/W ,and the on-screen picture is good at night , although I haven't looked at a night time video yet on the PC.

Mine is auto time set and auto location ( GPS). With parking mode set, the camera switches on before moving and shuts down a short time after stopping. Nxtbase Technical are a bit vague on the current taken when in Park mode, but I've found thm very helpful on phone.
