Have you checked the bulbs and fuses? I don't see any relay in a quick glance at wiring diagrams.

Hi Wino, just had new bulbs fitted, will check fuses today it was dark last night.

I just read on forum someone mentioned a loose relay.

Thanks I will let you know how I get on 😉

Actually, on second look there is a relay, it's in the middle row of the relay panel on the far right hand side, location 10b.

If that relay can make both dipped beam lights go out if it's loose, quite frankly this isn't a very safe design from Skoda.

Thanks for that info , sorry to be a pain, how do I get to the relay panel.

...Of course, you fitted the correct bulbs? Some take single filament bulbs, others twin. If you fitted the correct ones then the fault lies elsewhere.

Dunno, sorry. It's somewhere in front of your right knee when you're sitting in the driving seat, I believe.

Have a look for any 'how-to' threads for things in that area which might include descriptions of removing whatever trim panels may be in the way. It's a bit of a faff on a mk1, hopefully less so on a mk2.

This page gives the official method for getting to the relay panel. https://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/fabia-mk2/vehicle_electrics/electrical_system/wiring/fuse_holder_and_relay_carrier/removing_and_installing_the_relay_of_the_relay_carrier/

From the angle of that sketch, it looks like you might be able to see the relevant relay if you put the steering column up to its highest position and look through the resulting gap.  The number 3 arrow in that pic is pointing at the top row of relays, second relay in from the right; the one you're wanting to check is the furthest right (a half-width one) on the next row down.

Edit:  Problem is, that image is of a LHD car, so the right side of the relay panel may be harder to see on a RHD car, as the position of the relay panel will be a mirror image of what you see there, but the relays will be in the same places left-right, so the right hand side may be out of view.  Dunno.

Thanks Wino, for the info.

Just had it into auto electrician, he has checked fuses and relays said he was going to try a switch on Monday.

Relays not in a good place, upside down on your back.

He is waiting for some info from someone.

I will let you know what happens 😉
