A sad day, she has to go.

Featured Replies

I thought I would keep this car for a long time as it is such a good example of a car that I'm sure will become a classic eventually.

I have enjoyed driving this almost as much as my 5.5 L TVR which sadly will also go up for sale.

Sadly, due to health issues and giving up work,  I am cutting  down my 4 car collection down to 2!

Always garaged, 64K, spotless, even the underside!  I will be sad to see it go.

The whole point of this is a question.  With maturity brings poor memory!

Where is the best place to advertise, auto trader, eBay or elsewhere?

Wow, that looks lovely.... Hope you have a fair price in mind, not too low!

Local papers.

Autotrader can be good, although you may get dealers coming with wads of cash trying to knock you down.

Ebay will likely get some good buyers, but also a lot of timewasters, scammers and bellends who either don't read the ad (important if you're not willing to personally deliver it to Stornoway), or cannot fathom why you won't ship to Uzbekistan.

I hear Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace can be useful, though I've never used either myself.

Of course, there is a Cars For Sale section right here on the forum too... ;)

So what are the two you're keeping? The Merc and....?

Keeping a recently acquired limited edition Boxster S, (RS60 Spyder).

The Porsche hasn’t got the presence, outright acceleration and rarity of the TVR but it is much easier to live with. Electric hood, air-conditioning, adjustable suspension, sport mode et cetera. I know some people look at them as a hairdressers car but even though my TVR is well sorted and has many track days under its belt, the Porsche would see it off in the bends

regarding putting It in classifieds on this site, haven’t you got to have a certain amount of posts before you can advertise?

Yes, keeping the Mercedes as well. That does everything apart from good fuel consumption!

I think you would have no problem selling the Octavia on Briskoda,  you will know it will have gone to another loving home and should be well looked after by an enthusiast .

That is all
