Featured Replies

So i have a mk1 vrs im aiming for 300bhp but a couple mappers say i may not make 300hp heres my spec let me know if anything elce needs to be done?

Gtb2260vk turbular manifold

Sache sre clutch

Piper highlift cam

160% firads(know these are high gunna try swap them out)

Streight through pipe

High flow inlet

Fmic

I have lsd and 330mm ap brakes so should handle the power well.

Been told its the turbo that might limit me on power, so what should i exspect from this hp wise and what boost? Thanks

If you want to max out that turbo and cam then you need the head gasflowed as well, a few guys on here managed to hit 300 but all of them had a modified head as well.

Beware, all these engines became unreliable, they repeatedly blew head gaskets and split pistons until they were detuned so you may want to reconsider your target figure.

Ive got arp headbolts in so hopefully no head lift. There quite alot of people on the facebook page running 300 without any head work. Maybe i could see what my turbo makes if im not happy just got for the 2265vklr instead

300bhp Facebook lies, go for it.

Don't ask if you don't want to hear it, this forum is where people come when they have problems or want advice, they don't go to to social media where everyone is showing off and talking rubbish.

ARP headbolts ain’t gonna stop the piston(s) cracking, as we’ve seen on two or three Fabia’s in recent years.

As Sep has suggested, reliability may be an issue you need to seriously consider if you’re adamant of 300 horses.

May be an issue?

Gaskets going is possibly down to people trying to be torque heroes. Figure out what torque is needed at 3.75K rpm and ask for it to be capped at that.

You will get h/g problems (and cracked pistons) if you can't manage cylinder temps. Some running water or water meth injection to help.

Add 4 bar MAP sensor to the list?

Thanks for the help guys. The mapper im going too is really clued up on pd,s so im sure he will map it safely to what spec i have. He said i might not reach 300 but itll be a stupidly quick car, so i guess ill be happy with that
