As an owner waiting for my car, which map set does a current SE Technology have?

Sweet. Thanks for the heads up. I'll finally be able to get my first update since I purchased in 2015!

Looks like it's broken again!

They appear to be on the ball at the weekend then!

Sorry yes I realised that. I meant which of the map versions (full Europe or Western Europe) do uk models have

Clarity

You type your VIN, and will get the correct update options. At least worked for me past 3y.

My vin gives me about 6 choices

@Kental, this is correct, choose the most recent one with the selection of countries which suits your driving area.

Sorry it it obvious - but how do you know any map is an update from one already downloaded? I am using ECE 1 2019/2020 from earlier in the year. I can see a 2020 now is it worth the effort to use it?

Maybe a stupid question to people who have done this before, but I've only just got the car.

Do you do all these updates in the car, or do you have to link anything to it, like a laptop? :blush

Do it on a computer. You download the zip files, unpack and then copy them to your original Skoda SD card, overwriting what was on there. So its also a good idea to back it up first - just in case. Then you pop your SD card back in the car and it's now updated!

Backup the SD card first, there may be some other files on there,

one is an identifer for the vehicle, do not delete or overwrite this one (from memory is called something like Overall.NDS), best to keep extra copy of this file on another computer

some of the files say later update will not fit on standard SD card, what can we do with them if the car recognises its own SD card?

EC1 will fit and assuming you aren't driving across the whole of Europe, that should do...

I was thinking a trip to Italy, but that doesn't look possible.

What do the cars come with from the factory?

EC5 had the UK and Italy and is 7gb so should still fit I'd have thought...

Hi Nik, did I mention I'm a Technophobe. Looks like I'm going to have someone do it for me. Thanks.

As long as the site remains stable you can chop & change dependent on if you are travelling to Spain or Italy for example.

What is the SD card you get in a 2019 UK car (sorry still waiting for mine)
