Congratulations on your new car!

Is that Corrida Red? Any chance of some outside pics :)

How are you finding the sound system, and the engine?

Yes, it's Corrida Red, pic below :)

The sound system lacks some speakers compared to the vRS (think the vRS had 8, the Sport has 4) but it does the job and still has a decent sound. I like having the autochanger back though!

The engine is a little cracker, though I'm still getting used to not having a turbo :D It pulls well and seems much better than might appear on paper as it has good torque across the midrange. It still needs miles to loosen up a bit, so far I'm getting 44mpg average, but my GF's Sport which has 1200 miles now is returning 52mpg averages :)

Sweet new ride!!!

Looking nice n shiny in the sun there! :)

There are things on the sport that they don't put/offer on the vRS that i'd love to have.. like the tinted rear windows and the body coloured door handles (yeah i know they can be done at a later date, but i would of prefered them as a factory fitted feature), and the colour of the seats looks much easier to look-after. Given the choice I'd of gone for those on the vRS, as white n children don't mix!!

Smart little bargain car that Sport.

52 MPG is great! The idea of the 1.2 engine is that it has high torque at low revs and it sounds like that transfers well to real world driving.

Some pics of the front, side and rear would be nice whenever you have time ;)

Thinking I might get one of these one day, or Fabia II Sport if they bring one out with the 1.2.

One more thing, does it have the cool flick key?

So far I've noticed a discernable extra "kick" from the engine when it reaches 2500rpm, and it pulls 5th well, even pulls well from 70mph to 80 on the motorway.

It did have the flick-key, but they don't anymore :( My GF got one of the last ones with the flick-key, mine is a standard key, but still remote central locking, bit of a bummer, but I don't think it's anything to get worked up over.

I'll get some more pics after I've washed it, the damn birds have cr@pped all over it whilst stood outside work. Gits!

Mike, What happened to the VRS?

I traded it in. I usually renew my cars between 2.5 and 3 years, as I like the peace of mind with the warranty. Now that i changed job, I couldn't afford to go for a new vRS, but the dealer offered me the same trade-in against the Sport! It means that I could afford to buy it outright so I've a new 3yr warranty and no finance! As I'm not doing the miles I used to, the Sport should be cheaper to run anyway.

As for the Hot Hatch bit, now I can say "been there, done that" :)

How do you find the handling in comparison to the vRS?

Obviously the springs wont be as low or stiff but the 1.2 engine must be really light so perhaps its a bit more pointy?

Sorry. I'm really inquisitive, must go and get a test drive in one soon :)

Reading the specs in the brochures, the Sport is 200KG lighter than the vRS:eek: and you can feel that it's much lighter at the front. To me if feels a bit more neutral in normal driving which I like, and it steers very accurately. Sometimes the vRS felt like it didn't want to know when driven slowly and only felt good when driven harder, since I don't like driving my car hard all the time, the vRS annoyed me on occasion. The ride is good and it's very well controlled . As you would expect, it's softer and rolls a bit more, but not excessively so.

The tyres are nearly as wide (195's vs 205's) and the 15" wheels help out too, it's a very nice little package to drive. I also don't believe the quoted 15sec 0-60, feels faster than that, more like 12-13. I'll have to run a real-world test when I've got a few more miles done.

Looks good but it needs to lose those bumper strips!!

Heres some pics of my new 1.2 Sport as promised a few weeks back.

Picked the car up on Tuesday and i'm very impressed so far!

Really like the look of the car, both inside and out. You get some decent extras for your money. I was unsure about getting black at first but now i'm glad I did!

Engine goes well and seems to pull as well as my old 1.4 8v especially in the mid range.

I just hope its more reliable than my old car :)

My GF traded her 1.4 8v for the Sport and we both think it goes considerably better, as you say it's particularly noticeable in the midrange.

The black looks great, my brother has a black magic Fabia and it looks great when freshly cleaned, but as soon as it's driven it looks dirty again. :(

I also don't believe the quoted 15sec 0-60, feels faster than that, more like 12-13.

At least my 1.4 74kw with 17" is soooouuu slowwwwww, it feels like forever to get it to 100km/h, maybe like 12sec or so :D

Well, my feeling was a bit off :o with a full tank and driver only, 14.6sec

Has anyone got a part number for that leather handbrake and would it be easy to fit, it looks so much nicer than the plastic one:eek:

Was that in the new one? Could loosen up a bit yet :)

Yep, thats in the new one, only on 300miles, so some loosening up still to be done :)

That car is awesome, I lurrve that interior. Damn, Jason's beaten me to it . . . I'm second as I have crappy seats at the moment. :D

How much is a 2 litre Fabia over there?

So what will a full set of Sports Seats, or covers, cost me from a dealer?
