Estate boot will not open

Featured Replies

Skoda Superb 2.0 (170) TDI Elegance estate.

Just carried a spare set of wheels in the boot (Changing over to a winters of wheels) and the wheels were rolling backwards and forwards and in doing so was knocking against the boot.  I have carried wheels in this way for years without issue.... However, when I got home the (external) boot button above the number plate was not working and I am unable to open the boot.  The remote will not open the boot.

I have tried:

1. Cycling the central locking;

2. Disconnecting the battery to see if this would reset the system;

3. Confirmed that the boot is properly closed.

Researched this using Google but haven't found an advice on an estate and this scenario.

There are no warning lights or fault messages and I do not have access to VAGcom or similar.

Anyone able to assist me sorting this, please?

Can't see how to edit the original post, but should have said that when I press the boot release button nothing happens i.e. no whirring of electric motors as if trying to open the boot.

Chap on Pistonheads helped.  Boot can be unlocked from inside manually.  After that the remote worked on the boot again.
