2006 TDI steering slow to pressure up

Featured Replies

Hi

on morning start up my power steering is slow to start working. No dash warning light. My battery seems ok but last winter I was slightly dubious about how great the battery actually is. I’ve a feeling the fluid level will be ok in the pump. I read the pump draws a high current. How likely is this problem to be battery related?

Thank you kindly sir. When I got this car I had the ASR light stuff, you’re right no battery light! I’ve now fixed the OTHER wire!

hopefully my power steering will be alright now..

Please let us know whether or not it solves the problem. :)

It was fine on this very cold morning (-1 in Edinburgh) so a decent test. Suspect ok. I had an inclination it seemed possible it was electrical related.

I’ll post back again if problem persists otherwise considered fixed.

again, huge thanks for pointing me directly to that.
