Hello Skoda Owners,

 

I need understanding what problem I have with my 1012 Octavia Wagon. Its only 70K old but is now due for its 7th (yes seven) water pump. Well, thats what has been replaced previously but Im starting to think its not the pump but something else making this periodic whistling. I have captured ( 3 times before) on video - might be worth me posted it too to see what you all think. 

It's currently not making the noise but it comes and goes with no real clear reason why (not temp, or speed or weather etc). Id love to hear from anyone who has experienced this and knows the answer. AndrewBini1970.

1) Which engine (code or size plus h.p and fuel type)?

2) One possible source of noise is the aux belt tensioner. 

Thank you pikpilot - I know its a 1.4 ltr turbo Petrol engine - 77 rings a bell - I'd need to find that out. The thing/issue I'm having is when we replace the water pump the noise goes away for a good 8-10,000K - then it come back the Skoda service and Skoda Aust cant answer why? So, may be if the tensioner is overtight the weakest link is the water pump??Thats worth looking into - thanks.
