After checking with some car part suppliers I was told that the fuel filter for my octy mk3 1z3 was a Bosch N 0008 but when I went change my fuel filter it was a totally different filter so now I am baffled so can anybody tell me what filter I need I have added some pictures for you to identify also can anyone tell me what the screw in the centre of the cap is for

The screw is probably a bleed screw to let air out and fuel in after changing.

Thanks for your help Golf-Fiend and TheClient no I can change the filter which has never been changed since new 90k miles ago

 

With the new I have three seals can anybody tell me where does the small washer seal goes

Maybe it’s for under the screw on top of the filter lid?

That would be my guess.
