I have a 01 VRS and the anti-roll bar bushings are gone. Lovely knocking sounds from under the car. I took the wheel off yesterday to measure the bar and it only about 20mm. Is this then a 21mm bar. I would have thought it would have being a 23mm bar due to the spec on the car.

Are you sure its the ARB bushes that are causing the knocking noise and not the bushes in the drop links?

ETKA lists a 19mm front ARB for a 2001 vRS and a 23mm for 2002 onwards. I don't know if the thicker one can be retrofitted.

Maybe i should replace all of them to be sure.

I have a 01 Octy vRS & had both front & rear ARB changed - the front one is VW part from the MK iv R32 & the rear is a Neuspeed one. With standard springs & dampers it is surprising the effect these 2 changes have made :-)

I would definatly recommend changing them

I like the sound of that. Fixing the problem and making the car handle better.
