Need help with aftermarket stereo Pure Highway h260dbi

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I hope everyone is doing great.

I have installed this Dan stereo in my mark 1 fabia estate.

Factory harness ( 2 X 8 pin connectors) fit straight into the back of the stereo and everything works.

But there are 2 issues-

1.  Everytime I turn the ignition on - I have to manually turn the stereo on - it doesn't switch on automatically.

2.  And I believe for the same reason, no presets are saved.

Could you please suggest a solution.

Also, my dab roof aerial has an additional red cable - how do I connect that to the harness.

Here are the pictures of the car stereo.

Thanks in advance.

Swap the permanent and switched 12V supply pins over (can detach them from connector with an paper clip etc... The DAB aerial, I dunno. For my AM/FM booster I scotchlock'd onto either the switched 12V ... I think.

Ok thank you very much.

I will give it a go tomorrow

The DAB aerial doesn't connect to the harness, it connects to that little gold socket on the back.

Yes, you are right.

May be I didn't make myself clear.

Dab roof antenna comes with three cables-

Gold dab cable

Black FM cable

Red cable ( that powers the antenna for better reception I believe)

How do I power that red cable????

Thank you

Just splice it into the switched live using a scotch bloc connector. Simples.

Hi Vindaloo,

Thanks I tried but did not succeed unfortunately.

Anyone living in Kent - who could possibly help me with it?

Thanks

You need to take it somewhere and pay them to fix it, it's really outside the scope of what we can do if you lack even the most basic of practical skills.

Please don't take this as an insult, but you're dealing with a permanent live supply and the last thing I want is for you to risk having a cabin fire.
