Le Mans 66

Featured Replies

Looking forward to watching this film. Any Briskodians seen it yet?

Has a lot of harsh reviews already from hard-core racing fans.

I'll watch it as soon as I can find a free stream, but the trailer isn't inspiring I must say - there were several factual errors in the one I saw.

Hollywood is never that good at getting the facts right.

The title is more marketing than fact to, based on the reviews I've seen.

I've seen it. Lots of non factual incidents and closed up time scales.

But lots of lovely cars, repro and otherwise. I noted a polished aluminium AC Cobra Le Mans

, as test driven by Jack Sears at ~200mph on the M1. Before speed limits.

That one off AC works coupe should have been light green. It was rebuilt fairly recently having been completely written off in the mid 60s. The M1 test run was always thought to have caused the national 70mph limit too.

Finally got to watch the film over Christmas courtesy of one of my daughters who send me the blue ray dvd.

It's 2 1/2 hours long, well filmed, lots of great cars, but as usual with hollywood the facts and fiction get a little mixed up. Overall I enjoyed it.
