What sort of price? - Front Shocks

Featured Replies

Over the past week or so I've noticed a 'creeaakk' sound coming from the front of my trusty Greeny Estate (2013 '13' plate with 110,000 miles) I'm pretty sure it's the front shocks. I was wondering if anyone knew what sort of cost I'm looking at to get them 'done', so I can check the finances before contacting local garages.

Also would it be a major faux-pas to go to Kwik-Fit to get it done (I have no idea who else in the Swindon area would do it, and give a decent guarantee on the work)

Lazy question to ask, but I thought you guys would be able to fore-arm me! :)

Shocks don't often creak, its "normally" a ball joint worn or suspension bush......either way should be no more than an hour a side max, who charges what depends on where you go, could be anything from £50 - £125 per hour + parts

There was a faulty batch of track rods that creaked due to poor manufacturing, something to do with the grease. They creaked drying slow speed manoeuvring only.

Mine were replaced free of charge on a 13 plate car.

Had same issue with our Fabia wasn't the shocks creaking the coil springs were cracked near the top of the strut just under the wing mount bought a pair of springs for £120, shocks were fine, be careful if you replace front shocks these need to be gas filled not just oil
