1.0 TSI tick over

Featured Replies

What should the "tickover" be on these 1 litre engines? Mine is about 1500 rpm which is high compared to previous cars.

850-900 today. Rather higher than the 1.2 which did 650 without AC.

I've got 1.0 TSI Octavia.

I notice when I first fire up the engine it is idle at 1,500 rpm too w/o AC. When I start to drive and change into second gear and leave my right foot of any pedals it goes along at a minimum 15 mph.

When I go down the road about half a mile and reach the traffic light and stop, I notice it idles just under 1,000 rpm. When I've got the green light and get going if I were to to go into second gear and leave my right foot of any pedals it goes along at 9 mph.

It's quite annoying at first.

It is just getting the cat hot, then you have anti stall.
