Airbag fault

Featured Replies

Hi. Just purchased a second hand yeti from a local garage. New to skoda. Noticed that when I turn on the engine in the morning, I get a momentary airbag fault sign. If I have been driving, turn it off and on, it's not there. Took it to the garage and first time, could not replicate the issue. I then recorded the message and showed it to them. They said that's normal startup checks.  Can any yeti owners let me know if that is the case . Any help is appreciated.

No,  that is not what should normally occur when switching on.  I have never seen that warning and I've had 2 Yetis over a seven year period,  one diesel, one petrol.  Needs investigating....I suggest the garage you bought it from should at very least run a diagnostic check free of charge and see if there are any error codes recorded.  It might just be a dicky sensor somewhere,  or it could be that at some stage the airbags have been deployed and not reinstated correctly,  or there is a fault developing in the airbag system.

Hi Welcome to the forum

Mine pre facelift Yeti doesn't chime like that, but just a thought, in the glove box there is a switch to disable the passenger airbag if for example you have a child seat. Has that been set?

Thanks for the reply. on my model, the switch is on the dashboard to turn off the passenger airbag. It's on.

No. The warning light is there; but the switch is in the glovebox ~ all Yetis.

The warning light is on the dashboard but the switch beside that is the hazard lights.
Look in glovebox for the switch to deactivate front passenger airbag, as Freedie says on all Yeti's.

Hi Urrell. Thanks for the response. Checked the glove box. Yes it's there and yes it's on.
