Finally got a test drive in new octy vrs

Featured Replies

as above, full kitted out version in black with the 18's. lovely car to drive, but didnt think much of the performance, for a 2.0T 200bhp i thought it would have been a bit more punchy, but im afraid my wee fabia with the 180bhp remap seems to have alot more grunt that it and at least it puts a smile on my face everytime i drive it.

saying that, the dealer told me the same guy that they got to remap mine will remap this to 270bhp.

now at

It is less punchy as the boost is very linear and pulls from alot lower and keeps going, none of this lag, boost and drop off.

i know that, just think i was expecting a bit more ooomph. if you know what i mean.

Check the speedo next time ;)

Its very deceptive.

dont get me wrong, it does haul ***, and its a fantastic and comfy car to drive, and had all the toys id ever need. think im just used to the punch of my own car.

but that re-map would definatly be on the cards, within the first year.... ;)

me thinks 270bhp is a bit OTT by the dealer :)

out of interest what dealer was it?

A little OTT, but not far off, IMHO

A reliable 45-50hp should be possible with just software, and a drop-in filter...

:iagree:

I believe Revo claim 270bhp.... :D

Chris

I found the 2.0 TFSI felt slower than my remapped MK1 but as Ross has said, look at the speedo and you'll frequently be surprised.

The dealer is Dean of Dumfries. SW Scotland. 01387 263817

Its the same bloke they had i to do mine to 180 at its 20k service, (now at 40k on a 54 plate)

Pretty sure its a Revo remap. Tho i still havent found out for sure, as he wouldnt shut up about the new octavia.. determind till the end.

Sounds like my sources may have been a bit fishy when talking about his chippy ;)

Chris

I hear they dont feel as fast as an old Porsche 928 either.
