Bolero Bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I have a brand new Skoda Octavia vRS (only done 255 miles).

Twice now I've started the car and the bluetooth has not connected to my phone, the Nav screen on the Virtual Dash wouldn't show the map either - just showed the message, starting navigation.

When I've selected source and the bluetooth it came up with the error along the lines of cannot switch on bluetooth.

I've done a factory reset of the head unit to see if that helps but each time I touch Bluetooth as the source it simply says Device not connected. If I go to settings and click Bluetooth it says Telephone Not Available.

I've tried scanning for Skoda BT--- (or whatever it is) using three different devices and none find it.

The first time i saw this problem I had to leave the car parked for an hour or so - when I went back out the bluetooth etc seemed to work.

It would appear that the head unit is also stuck with regards the Smarlink. It is permanently stuck on Starting Smartlink.

If I connect my phone (A galaxy S9+ with Android Auto) the Bolero Head Unit says, Reading USB Device. I have to allow access to my phone (on my Phone) it says Reading USB Device on the head unit again - but just stays stuck on Starting Smartlink.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue without taking it to my dealer?

Thanks in advance,

Rich

Made phone visible in the bluetooth menu?

If you make your phone visible it should pair up quite readily. My S8+ does it almost instantaneously when the infotainment system is playing "ball".

Also check compatibility with the infotainment system at the update portal, I seem to recall the the S9 isn't overly compatible with the Skoda system, compared to other Galaxy S series phones and Skoda aren't good at updating software/firmwares for anything.
