Ghost Immobilisation

Featured Replies

Is ‘Ghost’ considered to be the best way of securing your vehicle from theft these days or are there other systems / devices

and/or visual deterrents?

I don't know a great deal about all the other systems or the Ghost system as such, but i am aware of a BMW M3 locally which was ' stolen ' with keys in a burglary and then promptly cut out a few yards down the road when the required series of inputs were not ...... input ! Stopped it dead in the water and prevented the car being taken, all i can say is it worked, very well indeed.

Yes I think that is how ghost works or even wont start unless the correct inputs are made

That's fine until the thieves come back to force you to start the car...

Rather than pay £400 + for a ghost immobiliser, just go down to asda or any key cutting shop and get a key cut for your car this  normally costs no more than £10, then just hang the key near your front door or where it can be easily found by a thief.

This key wont start the car as it has no chip inside it, so does exactly the same as the ghost immobiliser but at a fraction of the cost  😎😎😎

The Ghost really does work, My Golf R would have been stolen if i didn't have the Ghost

the cops said the word would go round the local scum that it had an immobiliser so not to bother with it....lots more without!

they need to get hold of your key 1st, which usually means breaking into your house,

once they have your key, the car obviously wont start because of the ghost immobiliser.

but the outcome is the same if they break in to your house and steal a key which has no immobiliser chip inside it,

the car wont start,

but you have saved the biggest part of £400

ps you will probably save another £200 on top of the £400 because you'll still have your original vw  key , as thief unlikely to be returning the key to you   😎
