Hi all

Sorry not been around since may - but we have had a strange year LOL for a variety of reasons and am just catching up on internet stuff.

I had to change cars because of a creaky L knee,we now have 2 Autos in the family - a Suzuki G Vitara 1600 3dr for fun and a Kia Sortage 2.0 crdi for daily and towing if reqd.

I returned to gliding exactly a year ago and fly whenever our weather allows (been a cr@p summer up here ),hence the possible need for a tow car.

Anyway thanks for all the help on here - it is a friendly forum - I may pop in from time to time to have a look round.

Sorry to hear you're leaving Baz and good luck for the future.  Fellow pilot, PPL and never finished my Silver.  Now grounded for lack of funds but can fly when my well heeled friend invites me!

Where did you fly power and glidders ?

I finally completed my Gold Badge this winter with a Gold Height claim off the winch at my home club (in scotland) - only 50 years since I first went solo LOL

I am also ex PPL but gliders are more fun.

Started with Chipmunks in 1970 on a Service Flying course but having gone solo, got the sack for not making progress fast enough.  Then went to Germany and joined a service gliding club, qualified and got bronze in 1972.  Came back to UK in 1975 and finished my PPL with good comments from the CFI.  Flew in Hong Kong and then back to Germany where I eventually returned to gliding in 1982.  Did the height for silver but moved again before I could do duration and distance.  Have done a little power flying with friends who will take me up, last was a Vans9.  Too expensive really for me now.  Love my driving and old cars though even if I am an oldie!
