Electric window drivers side failure

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The drivers side front wind on my good lady's 2013 has stopped working. It stopped in the open position a few weeks ago. I checked the fuses all good but noticed that the passenger window would only work from the passenger door switch. I jiggled the cabling and checked connectors all good gave the motor a tap thinking she may be stuck and bingo it closed. Last week it stopped working again this time in the closed position. I have replaced the switch in the drivers door but with no joy. Fuses are still good and passenger window still only working from passenger switch.  Is there a relay or another fuse I need to check?

All help appreciated.

David

Highly likely its a broken wire / s in the door loom, very common problem.

They break in the door bellows between the door and A pillar, it is "possible" to repair them (depending on where they break) but I favour just replacing the loom to be honest.

If you pull back the door rubber bellows, you will most likely see the break.

Loom costs around £85 from a dealer.

My local dealer quoted £70 for this harness.

Depends on equipment fitted as to cost.

It was for an SE model

SE's can still be different spec, just like the RS etc, depends on what the original purchaser spent.

The price I quoted was for mine which is with front / rear electric windows, remote locking / alarm and electric heated mirrors.
