Dashboard half dead

Featured Replies

My car (fabia mk1, 2002 1.4 mpi) wasn't driven for about a month. In the meantime the battery went flat (black magic eye, 12v reading). I tried starting it and it did but no gauges or baclight on dashboard. I recharged the battery with charger (now magic eye green and 12.88v), but still no dashboard. The dashboard starts for a second when revs are kept at 1500rpm, when i add gas the baclight flickers depending on how much cas is added, check brake fluid light is always glowing but not like when parking brake is applied but dimmed and seatbelt light is always glowing even when key is not in ignition, car shows short lights and long light when started but not others. Pls help.

Was the car out in the open or garaged during the month it was unused?

I think you should try unplugging the two connectors at the back of the cluster, inspecting contacts for damp or corrosion, and reconnect. May just be a bad contact.

it was in open a lot of water condensed even on inside of glass because it was cold, i alredy tried reconnecting the cluster, no progress there.

i disassembled the instrument cluster and cleaned the pcb board now everything works no light staying on. Thank you very much.
