Front Fog / Rear Fog - VCDS Codes

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I would like to do the following with my fog lights but cant find the correct place for the codes in VCDS. Anyone know the location?

Front Fog lights

Switch on the second bulb (smaller one) on both sides not sure if this would become a daylight running light or how it acts. Trying to do this we have switched on the larger bulb to work when turning the wheel left or right when the lights are on but the fog is off. - Thats Fancy!!!!

Rear Fog

All I would like to do is switch on the passenger side fog light so both rear flog lights come on at the same time.

Thanks

Mathew

I assume yours is a facelift models as you have managed to set up cornering lights using the fog lights.

The smaller bulbs are the daytime driving lights which come on with the ignition and go off when main lights are on.

As shipped, the car had these fitted but not activated. You can activate them using VCDS or, more easily, using the Carista app. Your handbook explains how to switch them on and off, once activated.

incidently, your cornering lights also switch both front fog lights on when in reverse. Cornering lights only work when main lights are on.

Having just one rear fog light lit on the offside of the car is a requirement for European cars to avoid confusion with brake lights.

However, others on here have enabled both. Use the search and you will find the details.

Yes I know that VCDS can do it but I just need to find the location of the codes and I have been looking around and cant find anything that lists a path to the codes in VCDS.

Can anyone list the VCDS path to the correct area so I can activate?

You need to update your profile with the year of your MkII Octavia, it helps answer questions like these.

The facelift (FL) MkII Octavia (2009>) needs VCP (or similar) to enable the twin rear fog lights, it cannot be done using VCDS, unless you have the pre-FL MkII.
