2017 L & K 2.0 150 DSG

Featured Replies

Hi,  I'm looking at a couple of what I thought were almost identical cars as above spec,  and both have DSG. My question is how many gears should they have? Both are 2017 on a "17" plate and have the newer 9.2" Columbus screen. I'm confused as one is listed as having 6 gears,  whilst the other is listed as 7! It could just be a typo on the ads,  but if anyone could help I'd be grateful 🙂 thanks

The MK3 Superb diesels only ever had 6 speed DSG according to Wikipedia search.:o

Ok thanks yes I just checked there too. One of them must just be a typo on the add then. I'd best check everything else they've stated about it then lol 😄

I think I’m right in saying that the 2018 model year got the 7 speed DSG with the diesels (certainly 2019 year has them).

But Id have thought a 17 reg car would be too early to be a 2018 MY so would be 6 speed.

theres some other threads on this site which debate the merits of 6 speed vs 7 and TBH I think the conclusion is that in use the difference isn’t enough to make the 6 speed cars “unworthy” or ones to avoid in any way . I’d put some links on to the posts but can’t work out how to do it, sorry!
