2015 Octavia Scout Electronic Boot Not Lifting

Featured Replies

Hey all, thanks for the help in advance.

I have searched through the forums and have read several different possibilities.

My new for me (2nd hand) 2015 Scout Octavia decided mid holiday/moving of house to not lift up. It is an electronic boot and when I use the fob or the outer handle the boot unlocks, lifts a little, beeps a few times (more than normal) and then doesn't lift. I have to manually lift it to get our stuff out, but it wouldn't fully hold at the top. Is this a 'gassing' of the struts? It is out of warranty, would this be expensive in Melbourne, Aus to fix.

Thanks again, David.

It does sound indicative of the failure of one or both of the struts, a common issue unfortunately.

Thanks very much. 2 months of owning the second hand Skoda proving to be trying.

Frustrating.

I had a 2016 Scout for two years / 20,000 miles and apart from squeaky front suspension was fault free.

But it was bog standard, so no electric boot opening.

Did Skoda ever fix this issue with the automatic boot struts failing and leaking ? I had 4 sets replaced under warranty and every single set has been the same, even the current set which as I'm now out of warranty will have to remain as the cost of replacing them is expensive. Out of my 4 Vrs's my MK3 has been the worst of all,
