FL vRS estate switching to 17" alloys?

Featured Replies

Is anyone running a facelift vRS with 17" alloys instead of the 18" neptune ones it came with? I'd like better ride comfort in mine and I personally think the 18" neptunes look a bit too big on it anyway. Has anyone tried the 17" Zenith wheels from the pre-facelift models or know of any other 17" wheels that suit the mk2 FL vRS?

By the way if anyone has 17" wheels and fancies a set of 18" Neptune wheels I'd certainly consider a swap.

Thanks!

The standard specification for the 17" on the Skoda Octavia MK2 rims is 7Jx17 ET54 5/112 57.1 and is normally fitted with 225/45R17 tyres.

Also consider cheap steel rims from the Skoda Kodiaq fitted with 205/50R17 tyres. Mytyres list Alcar 9021 steel rims for £42.60. Specification 6.5Jx17 ET38 5/112 57.1

The ET38 offset pushes the tyre further out to the edge of the wheelarch compared to the ET54 offset even though its a 205 tyre instead of a 225 tyre.

The narrower 205 tyre is lighter than the 225 tyre and has less drag, so the car will feel faster. Better mpg too.
