Overtook a moped today.

Was going downhill granted....on me pushbike with full Halfords battery powered lookalike Xenons on.

The look on this geezers face as I passed him on his bright yellow 49cc Yamahama Jap crap scooter thing, was just AWESOME. I really believe he was impressed.

I wasn't. I'd just hit the kerb and was in mid air as I sailed past him.

Did you get your legs re-mapped on the NHS?

LOL With the speed bumps around here, I'd never argue with a push bike - it'd beat my Fabia hands down - oh, and that's probably true even going uphill - in other words, you'd go sailing past me even with both wheels on the ground ;)

Hope you're OK? I guess the bike might be in hospital? The council doesn't often sue cyclists for kerb damage, so should be OK on that score.

Edit: Off topic, apols, but re bumps I've happily gone with that handy tip about going fast, then braking just before the bump so that the nose dips, then release brake so that nose comes back up to go over the bumps. A million thanks to whoever kindly posted that  Might look to others as if I'm trying to "race the bumps" but it does work :)

 by the looks of your username I'd say this treatment wouldn't go amiss for you

Funny, there was a cyclist lying in the gravel 'escape lane' at the bottom of a hill near my house last night when I went out to work, he was at the far end, the bike was right at the beginning - it seems bikes stop quicker in gravel than humans!!

Aparently he went in for a 'laugh' to see what would happen, he must have been doing 40/50mph (very steep hill), lets just say he wasn't laughing when the ambulance carted him away!

Went down a hill near here, not knowing there was a main road crossing the bottom and was lucky I didn't go over the handlebars. I guess we live and learn whatever the vehicle.

Was "warned" for doing 40 in a 30 zone on a mountain bike.

Also, outside Wissant (France) on a great hill, going 48 mph on the white line in the middle of the road (again on a mountain bike) overtaking the British cars sticking to the limit:D

Great adrenelin rush.

Haha, I was warned back in my youth for exceeding the speed limit too on a push bike.

PMSL at the biker in the gravel trap

It was quite funny, I dont think he was too badly injured - the sad thing is, It's the sort of thing I can image I would have done when I was a bit younger

My first job was working in a care home for the elderly with my best friend. We used to go to work on her bike every morning with me on her handle bars laughing hysterically for most of the way

I know exactly where you mean. Cracking piece of road around there! If the Tour de France goes to that area they always use that road. Have seen the names of the top cyclists painted on the road. :)

lol try riding your bike and the front wheel just disapeers!!!! ....forks go into a pot hole in the lane and bike stays upright! wheel rolls into a hedge and i end up flying about 10 meters down the lane! ouch:O

We had just done the steep road zip-zag climb, a quick breather at the top, then the very long (but lesser steep) downhill run:D

And yes, the tour use that road most times its in that region.
