Number Plate Lights

Featured Replies

no it's not the usual, "what led bulbs do i need?"

I must have replaced about 3 led bulbs, i keep buying cheap ones from eBay, about 3 quid each and i'm tired of keep replacing them.

I'm thinking to go back to the incandescent ones, alternatively can anyone recommend some bulbs that are a bit more reliable?

Thanks

Incandescent all the way.

I'd recommend whichever number plate bulbs Skoda fitted to my Fabia in April 2010 as they still working. 👍

LED Number Licence Plate Bulbs Lamp For Skoda Fabia Praktik 2003+ Superb 2002+

I just got those of the 'bay, after having to replace one LED of the pair I had ages ago. Even the one had just gone dim and I could fiddle to get it bright but it was like a loose connection or something. That said, the replacements are different. The first set I had, were single LED ones, the new ones have three LED's per bulb. A bit Audi looking, but nice.

i always had the 3 led ones, even the one in my mazda interior light started to flickr. I think we aren't there yet with the quality of them, hence why i actually went back to incandescent.

Yeah, basically, a cheap LED is like a cheap bulb of old. On old motorcycles, they used to blow due to too much vibration (Pre-rubber buffeted signals, etc) so a quality bulb, say, Osram, etc was better then a bulb from the local auto shop, with no box, logo, etc, lasted longer. (Not long-just longer).

I usually get a set of around ten of the little bulbs that seem to go in the sidelights/rear lights, etc so as to have a few spares. When I get to thefts one, I order a few more. I get the look of the LED but not the life of the yellowish incandescent ones. You pays your money!

I also like the LED OEM type look, but i must have spent about 20 quid just on the rear number plate lights. Halfords has some for sale, but they have bad reviews
