Please start in Scotland and attempt to drive 2_400 miles in a roughly straight line in a Tesla!! ;)

If you stay in Scotland then a good idea to start in Scotland, no need to go to England or NI before starting.

Always charge before you need to.  Long before you need to, or before you might find a long diversion.

@Roottootemblowinootsoot - Several of your links talk about "Scotland's Route 66..." US Route 66 is 2_400 miles or so long...

Not NC500 but Highland Scotland.

Get a ElectroVerse card and the App for starting Charge Place Scotland chargers,

& for £12 the CPS Card.  But the Electroverse is more reliable.

& Tesla non Tesla on the phone.

Perth, Aviemore, Inverness,   Just common sense to get a charge at Broxden Park & Ride Perth on the Tesla Supercharger or the Council Chargers before going North on the A9.

Just how it is...A PITA sometimes.

Should have got an ElectroVerse card, and a hat,

maybe gloves or mits and wear more clothes in the North in winter...

Yes, but if you watch his other videos he is a bit of a numpty. For example, on the way to Inverness he stopped for lunch but didn't charge "because it wasn't his planned charge stop". Set off and stopped to charge 40 minutes later..... I've lost patience with this particular vlogger after 3 videos. 🤷‍♂️ (I'll probably watch the rest of the NC500 videos though as I love the area and the BUZZ )

CPS chargers in remote locations are a bit of a PITA but I also think its well known they need an RFID card to get started. An Electroverse card will cover a lot of his issues if he don't want to get a CPS card.

Just to try i use the CPS RFID card first. I have 2. £12 each. Most often an issue, no start or starts and cuts out.

I have to reset the Charger by hitting the emergency button to release the charger head.

Now i will just use the ElectroVerse card first.   I have now had 2 charges using it where no money has been taken and no trace of having charged other than on my Car / Phone App.

This was at CPS administered chargers.

I also have the card from Motability that is able to start CPS chargers.  In Theory that is, chargers have started and just cut out using that.

I see people often now calling CPS / SWARCO in Broughty Ferry on the Glasgow phone code number to get chargers started, then trying to get through to stop them.

I advise them to hit emergency stop, but stay and take the 20 seconds to restart it, even though the BP Pulse chargers say might take 10 minutes.

Big Scotland issue, pathetic Mobile reception at some chargers not only in the Highlands, it can be right at Edinburgh Airport.

Right beside main routes like the A90 & Forfar, a hub only 100 yards away from the Trunk Route. You can need to move about to get reception.

Hence pretty crap SIM Card / Mobile communications between SWARCO / CPS, even when only 15 miles away as the crow flies.

No surprises here.

Fully expected & nothing to do with being an EV or Rear Wheel Drive, just the ECO tyres that they have just like many other vehicles that are not suitable for UK weather at some times of the year or locations.

If you can not drive in and out of passing places you are a hindrance to others and a bl00dy pest expecting others to do it because you can not.

(4WD on inappropriate tyres just gets you more into trouble because of the mistaken idea that you will have grip / traction.)

Tesla Charging (Tesla non Tesla) in Inverness and Aviemore & Perth just simply clever.

There are a few cheap 50 kW DC chargers around Inverness but i am not going to say where. They are my 1st choice when there.

We will see what he does at Falkirk.

There is AC charging available at the Falkirk Wheel or at the Kelpies, and no issues as far as getting 50 kW charging, or paying more for Ultra Rapid charging.

Falkirk Charging Hub near the Kelpies.

Tariff now.  69 pence. £20 overstay after 60 minutes. & £20 an hour there after.

Falkirk Wheel. 4 Ports up to 22 kW, so 11 kW if lucky. 40 pence a kWh.  CPS, or ElectroVerse card / Apps.

He is not one for doing much research. As in Aviemore and Ski-ing in Scotland or the 5 Ski Centres.

Or maybe even charging,& the likes of the location of the Tesla Supercharger in Aviemore. Charge then stealth overnight parking.

(Ski uplift Chair and Tow is fine on Cairngorm, just the Funicular Rail uplift is not ready to re-open quite yet. Extensive repairs)
