RNS510 Satnav - software/map version

Featured Replies

I've just tried to update my RNS510 satnav with a disk from ebay. It went through all the menus as normal, seemed to be working and was downloading the update but then kicked the disk out saying  'CD/DVD error'. I've contacted the vendor for support but just wondered if there's any way to tell what version of the software & maps is currently on my system? I know it's close to 10 years ago because there are roads in my city wihch don't exist on the map.

Thanks!

Was it not just a glitch, did you try running through the process for a second time just incase?

Did you have any problems with the drive before just in case?

I tried 4x in total. Two disk errors and two complete refusals to acknowledge the disk other than that there was something in the drive. I've not had a problem playing CDs with it.

Well it should be supposed to be obvious that the disk could be defected.

If not able to find any other vehicle with such a unit to double test it then ask for a return or check from the supplier.

Though you  can try at this time to use again some disks (audio, video) to play a little with the unit in any case symptomatically the drive has been failing...
