1.4 TSI LPG conversion

Featured Replies

Any thoughts and advice if it would be  "ok-no-problem"  to convert the 1.4tsi  (CAXA) into LPG?

The car runs on a Revo stage 1 map with no issues at all since 80k km.

Current mileage is 160k (km).

Oil is replaced every 10k since having it from new and with no need to add any quantity between changes.

I'm usually an easy driver with normal driving habbits maning not passing 4k revs often.

There is a Skoda dealer which offers a decent Stag kit,  this  works flexibly  80-90% lpg and 10-20%  petrol (depending driving way, weather cond., ambient temps. etc)   as continuously monitoring the temperature in the head and thus this way maintains a additional cooling system as LPG is a dry fuel.

So any experience from people already running on LPG ?

thaks for any inputs.

Sadly LPG just about dead in the UK and re fuel stations have been gradually removed across the UK. When I got my 1.4tsi Superb II (same engine)  I did consider the Prins direct injection system that uses the same direct injection and pump, injecting LPG still in liquid form (no evaporator needed) but didn't bother in the end as my car was way more economical than I ever expected in real life (overall average nearly 46 mpg and you can get over 50mpg on a long run)

OK bigjohn, thanks for your input.

And why UK misses lpg?

It is also considered a (much) more cleaner fuel as regarding  for those emissions etc...

Also it is said that with a proper kit, engines' injections, valves, cat systems and internals are kept in better condition that petrol..
