Fabia 1 headlight upgrade

Featured Replies

I'm trying to find a way to upgrade my Fabia 1 headlights. So far I had the lens professionally polished and fitted nightbreaker bulbs. The light still aren't great and the dip is pretty woeful. Any suggestions (cheapest first) thanks!

Eat more carrots.

That link will give you LHD headlights. Definitely not a good purchase.

I've just fitted a new pair off Eurocarparts/Carparts4less. Yeah, I probably could have sanded and polished them back, but the reflectors were dull, it wouldn't suprise me if the lenses were clouded inside as well. The ones ECP sent were Depo units, fitted well and have made a big difference. I kind of applied the logic that 15 years wasn't a bad lifespan for a plastic product.

That's run by a member on here called hutchysrs50. He's very good.

The headlights from ECP/CP4L, do they use the electric motor for adjusting the headlight aim from within the car?

For £69 each a pretty good price, just not clear from the description if they use the manual electric motor levelling.

Thanks

No, they come with manual adjusters but you can swap your motors in in about 10 seconds with no tools.

Ok thanks, quiet fancy some shiny new headlights and at that price a bargain 👍

I'm really pleased with them. It's freshened the front of the car up a lot as well.

All Fabia halogen headlights have manual adjusters, they are to set the default beam height. The motors are to compensate for loads. It's two entirely separate things. You can't leave out the motors, they have to be fitted to hold the reflector. The default beam is set with the motor control thumbwheel set fully upwards.

Indeed - you're right, but they came with these in place of the motors, which adjust them in the same way the motors do.

^ Ah, fair enough. Never seen those before.

Same here, so they came out and the motors off my old ones went in.

Yeah I understand now. I fitted a new pair of headlamps to mine a few years ago but they didn't have those with them.
