timing belts

Featured Replies

Hi, looking to buy timing belts for my sons Fabia 1 1.4 16v. Everyone seems to sell only kits with idlers and water pump. Does anyone know the part nos of the belts or where to get just thje belts. Thanks Mick

Seriously, it's a stupid amount of labour to skip changing the pulleys and water pump just to nick a couple of quid off the parts bill, all those bearings will be really worn and dry.

You'll get no bad advice from me.

There are reasons for this; to do with the likelihood of the engine surviving until the next change interval is due.

You really don't want to be skipping changing the pulleys on most engines. But if there is one you really don't want to skip, it is the 1.4 16v which are very well know to destroy pulleys.
