MK3 vRS Magic Black Grill

Featured Replies

Has anyone any experience fitting a Magic Black Grill surround? Can get from local dealer, seemingly it's easiest to break the chrome one out and replace with new black one. Is it literally a case of just breaking it out as opposed to bumper removal or is there anything I should look out for?

TIA

I had chrome on my Octavia grille, used some gentle leverage and snapped it out in multiple pieces, seems to be the way a lot of people do it. It can be done with bumper removal, but that is a lot more work!

Yes start at the top with bonnet open you can get the first clips with a screwdriver from the top then just slide screwdriver along rest of surround and break it off steadily ,then clean out muck underneath and pop new one on ,its a ten minute job at most but well worth it .

Looks handy enough. Should have it done in the next couple days. One thing I wish mine had was the black pack. As far as I know on a Hatch it's just grill surrounds and mirror caps?
