Amundsen - Columbus compatibility

Featured Replies

wiringsomeoneHi guys

I want to change the main Amundsen unit with a Columbus unit, which has the SIM card slot .

I found the Columbus unit but first I would like to know if the LCD Amundsen is compatible with the Columbus unit.

I attached pictures with the LCD back panels of Amundsen and Columbus, the connectors is the same but someone knows if the wiring is the same?

Anybody can help me in this problem?

Second issue i guess is the GSM antenna.

Regards

You'll also need to change the SIM and SD-Card part inside the glovebox too?

Yes That I want to change the Amundsen  main/control unit from glovebox with a Columbus main unit with LTE ( sim ) and I wonder if Columbus unit works fine with Amundsen LCD.

... and also must install the LTE antennas.

And DAB aerial I guess.

Columbus MIB2 or MIB2.5 unit? If you're retrofitting the MIB2 unit the 8" screen will work fine, otherwise you'll need the 9.2" screen for the MIB2.5 unit.

@linni: without DAB. I do not have DAB on Amundsen ( I have 3 DAB station in my country )

@ ZacDaMan72: I only want to swap the Amundsen unit with Columbus unit but keep the 8" LCD ( Amundsen LCD );

Then make sure you source an MIB2 infotainment system and not an MIB2.5 system used in later models.
