Central locking activating on its own!

Featured Replies

Over the last few days, my 4 week old Kodiaq has been open in the morning. Last night someone took advantage and emptied the boot (luckily of not very valuable stuff). A couple of days ago and without being in possession of my keys, i noticed the car unlock itself.

Any ideas what is going on here?? Has anyone experienced similar??

Welcome to Briskoda 😎

I'm not wanting to come across as rude, but there are a lot of 'unexpected lock, window and boot opening' posts across all the model forums.

It is usually down to the keys being in your pocket as you bend down the buttons are inadvertently pressed. A long hold of the unlock button lowers all four windows. A long hold of the boot release button opens the boot.

When you witnessed the car unlocking, without the keys being on your person, where were the second (and potentially third) spare keys at the time?

Hi @silver1011 - not rude at all, don't worry!  I know the above didn't happen as the keys were inside the house - furthest away from the car - and I looked out of the window to see the car open and the interior lights switch on in front of my very eyes! Like something from an extra terrestrial movie! So the keys were not in my possession or anywhere near the car. I'll assess over the coming days and if it happens again I'll report to the dealership. On a brighter note, never had a Skoda before (tpyically Audi, VW, Mercedes) and I love the car and the space etc.

Hmm, not good.

Does the car have KESSY?

It might be worth popping all of the keys in a faraday day pouch or metal tin, at least to rule out any rogue signals from any of the key fobs.

If it still does it then at least you'll know it is nothing to do with the keys...

Yes, it has KESSY and will try that in tandem.

Cheers

Maybe someone has the Skoda Connect app on their phone that has the remote lock/ unlock function with your VIN number by mistake, and wondering why it’s not working on their car  :)
