So this popped up on my wifes car today, doesn't take long on Google to throw up the following:

 

This is a know issue across VAG DSG boxes.

Problem looks like it is with the gearshift assembly.

No a cheap fix, seen figures between £400 and £1000

 

Has anyone been through this?   We have the lever replaced a year ago due to cracking chrome, is it this lever that is replaced to fix this problem or something else associated with the assembly?

 

Car is out of warranty but full Skoda SH so will be chasing goodwill.

 

Any tips appreciated!
