Hi all looking for some advice, my key has decided not to turn in the barrel, never had any previous issues. I went out in it earlier, less than half hour later my hubby gets in it and the key wont turn in the ignition. Enough to put the radio on but that's it. Checked steering lock and tried wd40 any ideas? 

Is the steering on full lock in either direction? if so it you need to turn the wheel hard to get the key to turn.

No the steering lock is free, but thanks anyway 

My car, a Scout 2007, had the key locked in the On position before I bought it. It could not be turned off. In the end, the owner at the time decided to stall it and call the mechanica. The whole barrel had to be replaced.
