Replacing Dance CD/radio

Featured Replies

Hi guys, looking for a little advice before I buy / fit my new radio. Looking at the Sony XAV-AX1000

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/in-car-receivers-players/xav-ax1000

My car is a 2008 fabia 1.2 base model. So, no conrols on steering wheel to worry about. Sorry if it seems to be a lot of questions but any help is appreciated. I'm reasonably competent with car electrics and will be adding remote central locking at same time.

I've read up what I can find online but hoping somebody who has experience fitting similar unit can help a bit.

I will need an adapter for the rear connector, does anybody have a suggestion or a link to the correct one?

Do I need to change the live feeds or permant live to retain memory and the power on/of or will the correct adapter have this sorted?

Does it need any type of CANBUS adapter to prevent battery drain?

Do I need an adapter for the aerial connector?

I see it should be wired into the handbrake switch to prevent using some functions while driving. Is this easy enough to access beneath the centre console? Or is there a way of bypassing this?

Will it fit with the facia trim that surrounds the dance unit? Or does it have its own sony trim?

Does it take long for one of these units to boot up once the car is started?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Craig
