Has anyone had occasion to use the Skoda European Breakdown assistance recently ? If so, was it satisfactory ?

I ask because the twice I've taken the Kodiaq to France since I've owned it, I've had AA breakdown running concurrently. This year though it will only be Skoda assistance I'll have to fall back on, so does it work well ??

It is a Skoda, you don't need assistance. Never breaks down.

Nice idea.  I thought something similar when I had a Saab 9000, and I was right.  It never broke down.

 

But Saab assistance were brilliant when I drove over a metal gate stop hidden in the campsite grass and cracked the exhaust manifold/downpipe.  We were in France, and the downpipes are, apparently, different for RHD.  They provided transport to the Saab dealers, and then a chauffeur-driven Mercedes (not just a run-of-the-mill taxi), to the Hertz rental car shop, which they arranged to have opened up for us, during what would normally be lunchtime closing.  And the rental car was paid for, while they got the parts and fixed the Saab.

 

Skoda service may be quite so thorough, but it's not always breakdowns that give problems!
