its a shame

Visually its a very nice advert.

As for its effectiveness, not a patch on the UK adverts at all.

tried real player and it works. strange it don't in WMP

A lot of these videos don't seem to work if you have Windows Media Player 10. If you install the more tried and tested (and older) Windows Media Player 9, all seems to work OK

At least this is what I have found.

Very nice. I'm not sure how well it would work over here if only because it's so calm. Most TV seems to be a bit like life - fast and furious. The slow pace would appeal to some but somehow I can't see it working for vRS models.

Go to the Skoda GERMAN website (www.skoda.de) and look at the "Kino" advert. This is Bizarre!

Well that was a revelation, who are those frankly frightening puppets anyway? Pobs mutant eastern-european lederhosen-clad cousins?

If you missed it Clicky

That being said, when I announced my intentions about buying a vRS (around 2yrs ago) my friends said 'what's that?'

Imagine how happy when I heard about the ads...until I saw them.

"Umm you know that advert where the guy is being chased by the trouser press"

"Oh aye"

"That one."

"Bwa-ha-ha-haa!!! That's a car ad? There's a car in there?"

"Aye, don't blink at the end."

"What's so practical about a trouser press then? You know anyone with one?"

"Errr, umm, errr..."

1 single static shot does not a car ad make! Worst campaign ever (well, excluding pinocchios terminally happy brethren above), or rather worst implementation of a good idea. (Practical & Exciting etc etc).

I like 'Simply Clever' much better IMO. The 'It's a Skoda, honest!' were quite amusing too...

lol Put it this way: the 'eh? wtf is this?' outweighed the 'ahhh! clever!' by about 10:1 & no they ain't knuckle draggers either :)

Nowt against Skoda or the vRS, love em to bits BUT a car ad needs to show a lil more car & a lot less trouser press.

Can just see the reciprocal advertising now, bloke chasing a vRS, last min jump cut to... The New Corby 2000 Trouser Press, practical & exciting!

I'll have to side with L-Y-K, that's a far more professional looking ad & doesn't look like it was cobbled together to make a deadline. IMO of course... :P
