Superb or Kodiaq?

Featured Replies

Daughter currently has a VW Touran but looking for a replacement in the shape of a Kodiaq - mainly for the 7 seats.

Any thoughts on the Superb as an alternative?  Or indeed any other Skoda?

Well as the Superb doesn’t have a 7 seat option............

If the requirement of 7 seats includes transporting young children, you can only fit 2 isofix seats in the Kodiaq  middle row outer seats and not much room in the middle seat for an older child, or small adult.

The rearmost seats don’t have isofix and are really only suitable for kids/ small adults.

It all depends if they require 7 seats permanently or for occasional use and the age of any children to be carried.

If they do have younger kids I would advise taking all their seat/ transport systems and see if they fit, remembering that there’s very little boot space for buggy etc with 7 seats in use.

If 7 seats or a degree of off-road ability is essential, Kodiaq. If not, Superb. It's that simple really.

Thanks guys. I think this needs a rethink. I've managed to misinform myself about the Skoda range.

A friend of mine has 3 Kids and needs to install 3 baby seats: 2 Recaro Milano + 1 Recaro Young sports. As he was "new" in the "Skoda world", He asked me to come with him to make a test at the Skoda local dealer.

All 3 seats fit in the Superb MK3 Estate, whereas they don't in a Kodiaq (on the same row). Indeed, there are few cm (~1") less between rear doors armrests in the Kodiaq. It seems negligible, but it's not! You can't close the door unless you smash them. But I don't think it will be good for rear doors hinges after several years... Thus he chose the Superb Estate ;)
