New amundsen headunit

Featured Replies

Hello all

I have a yeti 2014 fitted with a rns 315 amundsen headunit , however it appears to have developed an issue with the bluetooth , makes and receives calls but wont stream music , after looking online I cant find a resolve for the issue ,so i was looking at replacing the unit with the newer amundsen unit part number 5L0035680 . I wondered if someone could tell me if this would be a direct replacement and just plug and play , or would it need coding by a dealer .

Many thanks all

It's possible but not plug and play.

- It uses a different quadlock connector so you need an adaptor.

- You'll also need to fit an extra wire(s) if you want to add a USB socket for Android Auto/Carplay.

The last challenge is component protection. As your car pre-dates CP, a dealer won't be able to pair the headunit to your car. Instead, you'll need a third party to hack/patch the headunit to remove CP and enable all functions. Might be worth asking @pab567 if he has any for sale.
