Clock keeps resetting to 12

Featured Replies

Have a 191 Octavia and twice in the past 2 weeks, my clock has reset to 12....very annoying, have to set correct time again. Date is fine. Is there a setting that I'm not pressing or something?

Does trip meter (I do not remember the correct English term for this) reset too?

Is your car battery ok?

Yes, trip counter resets also. Battery seems fine...

Have you checked fuses?

On my 2018 Fabia, I can specify 12 or 24 hour clock.

Hope this helps

Doubt it will make a difference as it will just reset to 12 either way.

I have left side drive octavia, there’s one fusebox behind little storage locker left side steering wheel.. Second one is next to car motor and battery.

if you have right side drive car i think one fuse box is behind glovebox, not 100% sure.

Ok, so it just did it again. Reset to 1.20 and trip computer reset to zero.... Anyone else any ideas?

Mine hasn't reset the clock, but at least 5 times in 2.5 months it has self reset the Since Refill & the Long Term trip computers.

Only option is to use CarPlay or Android Auto and ignore the car clock!!!

Maybe.. Just thought there was a fix for this.

Annoying as if it's a random issue, it may be a nightmare with a dealer trying to diagnose.

True. Maybe someone here had or has a similar problem....

My clock occasionally does it, but its the exception rather than the rule.

Go into the infotainment system and check the time and date settings, that maybe the best place to start.

Yep, did that, makes no difference. Date is fine, it's just the time that keeps changing.

Is the time setting set to manual or gps?

Otherwise try doing a hard reset of the system and see what happens. I've done that and it hasn't screwed up since.

How do I check if time is set to manual or GPS? I just use the settings on infotainment system.

And how do I do a hard reset?

The time and date settings should show an option for manual or GPS.

Try selecting Manual.

Mine does this when the missus drives it. Have you checked that's not the issue 😁

The clock and trip meter on my 2018 Octavia reset themselves a couple of years ago.  My dealer reloaded the software under warranty and it was fine until a couple of days ago when it happened again.  As the car is no longer under warranty, I just reset the clock myself.  I think this is a software problem.  Skoda will obviously not do anything about it now so I will just live with it.

Joking aside mine did do it recently and it was right after she had borrowed the car.

It IS under warranty still for another month but not sure I can be bothered to book it in since I just reset the clock and everything else seems good.
