When I got the new car in December it was raining cats & dogs and freezing so when I got her home it was a quick check of the boot.  The full sized spare I'd spec'd was there with a tool kit attached but nothing else.

My 2 previous branny Volvos had come with a warning triangle and first aid kit plus some other bits and bobs but as far as I can remember new Hondas and prior new vehicles hadn't so I just assumed the extra kit was a Volvo thing, given their USP is allegedly Safety. 

This week, after a trip away I was cleaning the boot and noticed one of the cubbies had a sign on it indicating first Aid kit.

I then had a look at the manual (p 152) which shows where "emergency equipment" is stowed that being a First Aid kit and a warning triangle.

 

So am I missing this kit?  Is it supplied as standard to the UK market for my spec of Superb or is the handbook just a generic reflection used over several English speaking markets?

The car arrived very early to the surprise of the dealers and I think the PDI was probably a bit rushed.

None of the ‘emergency equipment’ is included as part of the UK spec as, unlike most other countries, none of it is a legal requirement in the UK.

The handbook is an (often poor) translation of the original Czech generic handbook and tries to cover every model in the range and every option.

Thanks for that.  No great loss as I have a triangle from pre-volvo days and the first aid kit is very bog standard.

Reason I wondered if it was the dealers is they'd forgotten to include the winter mats in the protection pack and had to courier them over to me.

 

Can't disagree with your description of the handbook!

I dont have a handbook for the Yeti but I did notice the fixing straps & pictograms for the kit and triangle and thought they had been removed by the salvage yard like the jack, compressor, handbook and anything else that was not tied down.
