cooling fan doesn't work

Featured Replies

i have a slight problem where the cooling fan will not kick in at all on my octavia 1.8 t 'w' reg.

the cars cooling system seems to be fine, no leaks and the temp stays at half way on the temp guage. but i got stuck in traffic for hours the other day and the temp started to creep up as you would expect and the fans just wouldnt cut in.

i have checked the fuses but they are fine. was wondering if anyone could help me out at all as i am not sure what to look for next.

Hi Mate

There is a rad fan switch.

This is at the bottom of the rad.

This could be the problem.

If the switch is faulty it will not detect to switch it on.

Not a big job to do , but with it being in the cooling system this could be the problem.

Not that expensive either IIRC
